Dorming

After Orientation and the subsequent visit through Guadeloupe on the last day in Austin, I have done... nothing. Well, nothing much. Most of my days consist of me lounging about in my twirly chair staring, enraptured by Herbert's (my computer) screen and the information within. Basically, it's just been a whole lot of checking my e-mails and fanfiction! And then I end up taking a shower between the hours of 0300 and 0500 (seriously!) and sleeping at around 0600. Not very healthy if you really think about it, but I'm all right with my hours as long as I get at least 6 hours of sleep afterwards, resulting in me waking up at around 1430. Haha... now, we have the true meaning of "night owl".

The other day though, I did get to go watch "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" with a couple of friends which was pretty good. The ending didn't quite satisfy me since it sort of left you hanging, in a sense - but then again, there's a sequel coming up after this so I suppose I have nothing against it! lol... In fact, Davy Jones would have made a very cute infant octopus, in my opinion. It was pretty ingenius portraying each of Davy Jones' crew as a member of ocean life. That puffer fish-guy was REAL interesting. So was that hermit crab guy. hehe... Though the coral growth, among other things, on them was sort of disturbing at times.

Other than the movies and me just plain lazing about, I need to find a time to go drive the long 16 miles to school in order to get my diploma and come back. In other words, waste my gas for only staying there for the mere 5 minutes that it takes to get a piece of paper that I earned after the four long years of being in high school. Pure joy, I tell you. ;) Seriously though! But yeah, I'll have to do that on Monday. Besides that, I've been just going around looking for prospective props to dump into my side of my room in my dormitory. It's really quite difficult and complicated. Well, not very, but enough. I have to figure out what to leave behind and what to purchase since the dorm is relatively small as it is (the dorm, not the hall. The entire building my dorm is in houses almost 3,000 students.).

I have this list, which I won't type here to torture you and my fingers but so far, it seems to be fairly simple. But then again, I clumped some items together in one line if I feel they are related and I am a relatively low-maintenance girl. For example, for the four days and three nights at orientation, I only bought one backpack there that I used at school. It, amazingly, fit in my changes of clothing, soap, towel, toiletries, CD player, and other basic necessities. I also had a little drawstring backpack that acted as my "purse" that contained my keys and money and such. My roommate, Maerilly, on the other hand? :\ A suitcase that was PACKED to the brim. Actually, many people there brought suitcases packed to the brim. Even some of the guys. *pause* Hm... well, I never was like everyone. :) But yeah, this time, I know I'll bring MANY things. I am going to be living there for the next year, not to mention the following three years so I better personalise it with... uh. Things.

Honestly, I have only the necessities planned. The decorative things? Nuh uh. All I know is that there'll have posters. And stuff. Lame huh? lol... Hm... Though I do know my bed is green, the rug and bedside lamp is blue, my laptop (Xavier) is black, and my desk lamp is red (it's so cool! It has wheels!). That covers all of my four favorite colors! Besides that, everything else is up for grabs. I'll bring Pellow, of course, and some of my favorite books that I can't live without with because I worry for them too much when they're not with me (I mean, what if I suddenly need them?), but then... that's where my brain stops. I mean, there's only so many places to put the stuff! Even the food! That mini fridge lives up to its name! It's practically microscopic! ...OK, not so microscopic - but it won't fit an entire gallon of milk!

Ugh... But then I'm there to recieve my education, not go partying (like I'd actually want to) and relaxing like I am now. :) Overall, even with this slight stress factor of figuring out what to bring and thinking if my major (Human Biology) is correct, it's rather liberating, fun, and exciting. So, even though I feel as if I'm still a kid (because I usually forget I am eighteen now), I'm doing grown-up things. *sigh* THAT totally rocks.

It's like, I'm old - but I'm not!
