U.T.O. and my Mental Status

First off, I'll start with the very enlightening and entertaining "Danté's Inferno Test" which basically tells you which level of Hell you'll go to when you die. I've taken the test several times before and the last time, I got into Level 7 (Woot!). This time I'm in Level 5.

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Fifth Level of Hell!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
LevelScore
Purgatory (Repenting Believers)Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)Moderate
Level 2 (Lustful)Low
Level 3 (Gluttonous)Moderate
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious)Very Low
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)Very High
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)High
Level 7 (Violent)High
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)High
Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous)Moderate

Interesting, isn't it? *smiles* I'm not that wrathful. haha... and here is my Personalality Disorder Test.

OOOK. Well, that's enough with an assessment of my various mental states. Anyway, I just got back yesterday evening from my Four-Day Student Orientation at UT in Austin (July 11- 14). Overall, it was pretty interesting. There were programs and such that were entertaining and enlightening. Maerilly (my roommate and my ride back home) and I stuck close together through most of it and we got mooned during the Midnight Prowl, which is a tour of the campus and all the interesting happenings over the year like the Haunting at Kinsolving, the Panty Raid, the Engineers versus Lawyer Prank Wars, the Legend of the Albino Squirrel, and the Streaking Competition (where we got mooned by an actor in the skit). Then other programs were more mandatory than recreational like the two programs we had to go to. One was on Campus Safety while the other was basically a program to tell people not to judge other people since UT's pretty diverse. They were both pretty good and quite enjoyable. It covered many view points such as homosexuality, athieism, cultural issues, and stereotypes. I especially like the athiesm part since I am agnostic and sometimes I even think I'm athiest - but I'm mostly agnostic. *smiles*

Then there were the not-so-fun parts like figuring out what courses to take or if you had to take the Writing or Math SAT Subject Test if you (1) didn't make a high enough score on the Math IC/IIC Test (2) you didn't take a calculus class and you're in the College of Natural Science and (3) if you didn't take the English Language AP. Well, I took the English AP so I was hunky dory with that. I took the Math IC and made a good enough score so I could claim credit and take Differential and Integral Calculus. Soo... while people were all freaking out because of this and it was only the first day, the line for the testing information down in the lobby was LONG. I mean, we all thought that the Writing portion of the SAT would cover it, yeah? I know because Maerilly and I occupied that god-forsaken line.

Besides all that, we just walked. A lot. We got a feel of how it feels to experience the feelings of pain in your legs and feet. Dang that campus is HUGE. lol... I'm relying on that for some exercise but still! I think I got a tan which is pretty depressing to a certain degree but I know from experience that if I stay inside for a long while, my tan eventually goes away for the most part. Still disgusting though. Well, on the night of the third day, everyone was freaking out about what courses to register for on the fourth day. Maerilly and I ended up sleeping at around 3 am after going through possible courses and such and we woke up about 5 hours later to go to the PCL to use their computers to look up teachers and available classes. My choices were:

  1. ANT 302, Cultural Anthropology
  2. BIO 311C, Introduction to Biology I
  3. CH 301, Principles of Chemistry I
  4. M 408K, Differential Calculus
  5. PED 105R, Karate/Tae Kwon Do

Unfortunately it turned out that all Karate/Tae Kwon Do classes were full so I only have 13 hours of class the first semester which is good but I wanted that course for exercise! The advisors said that you take less classes during either your first semester while your get used to everything and your mid-terms. Also, it turned out that all the M 408K classes were full so I ended up having to take M 408C, which is Differential and Integral Calculus (Calculus BC). That really sucks because... It just does. Haha... I think it's weird that I'm majoring in Human Biology but the class I'm most excited about is Anthropology. To tell the truth, at one point, I was considering having Anthropology as a major. Why? Well, I loathe math and I dislike science. Unfortunately, Anthropology is a hard field to succeed in, though medicine is no easier feat. *shrug* I ended up getting into a FIG (Freshman Interest Group) so all my work the night/morning before was all for nothing since my FIG's members have biology and chem classes set up for them already as well as ANT 302. All I had to do was find a math course that fit into the schedule. Convenient, really.

After that, Maerilly and I went looking for her house and when we (finally) got there, after making our new friend's mom circle around campus and the surrounding areas for at least 15 minutes. It's a nice quaint house situated next to a bus stop and a really good coffee house. We proceeded to explore but that took a while as we had to figure out how to get to Guadeloupe and it's shops. It took us a while to figure out the bus stop times but we eventually got it after walking half the way. :) It was all fun in the end and we got passion fruit green tea tapioca and had spinich quesadillas at Veggie Heaven, which is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. It was gooood. After that, we looked around, played two rounds of DDR (in which I sucked) and we went back to the house to take a nap and until her parents' arrival. We left yesterday morning to Houston.

I didn't sleep until either 8 or 9 this morning and I woke up at 2:30 this afternoon. haha... that is not healthy.
