School, Life, and Other Current Going-Ons

Yes, I know. I don't intentionally take long breaks between posting, but it just happens! So, I'm at home on a nice Tuesday afternoon drinking Cranberry juice (diluted with a bit of water so it's not THAT tart). It's not much. I'm started to get bored out of my mind, but it's better than going to school, listening to a pointless presentation the school administration has decided to let us see and suffer through. I'm excused from it, though, since I have internship (and since I don't go to my original clinic place, I don't have one!) and we don't have to sign in. Besides all that fun stuff, I (for some odd reason) decided to join my school's literary criticism team AND the spelling and vocabulary team. I have no idea why I agree to all these things when I know, deep in the back of my mind, that I'll only go over half of the material - AT THE MOST. *shrug* :) I'm a procrastinator at heart. But then the spelling and vocab team I was on in tenth grade did get first place (though the UIL coordinator at my school LOST our medals - though I did get my letterman. hehe... So I suppose it wasn't that great of a loss.) Anyways, today's the TAKS testing (that additional standardized test that every poor soul in Texas has to take in order to advance to the next grade level - or something like that) for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders - and the 12th graders that didn't pass it last year because you have to pass it in order to graduate. *rolls eyes* Boneheads. Well, not the seniors-who-didn't-pass-TAKS but the school administrators for Texas. Though I suppose it could apply to the seniors who didn't pass since the test is easy.

Besides all that fun and games, nothing much has been happening. I'm taking a Credit by Correspondence class for Speech since I need THAT to graduate and the deadline for everything is April 6th, I believe. I'm currently on the fourth lesson, out of a total of seven. And I could be done by now, since they are fairly simple. Problem is that I hate essay assignments and Lesson four happens to have one. So, naturally, I procrastinate. However, I plan to finish at least up to Lesson 5 and mail that in by the end of the week (more specifically, I plan to DO them today - the key word is "plan"). Also, I believe the dreaded case of Senioritis has found a new host body: moi! :) Actually, I believe I had to for the better part of a year now. But yeah, now that graduation's almost here? hehe... it's on overdrive. And here I am, already Procrastinating. Wonder what I'll do next...? Good thing my grades haven't dropped though. Hmm.. they could do with some plumping up though! What else about school? OH! I plan to go to UT at Austin and major in Human Biology (even though I hate math and science. *shrug* Don't ask because I don't even know why myself.) I already got accepted, got my housing options down and even a roommate! Just have to wait till school ends! Well, at least high school. :\

On a brighter note, I had contact with my best friend, Nady, yesterday. She has MySpace and I have to say, I don't know what in the world to do. I can do some of the profile stuff but I dunno how to blog or anything. Plus, my computer's slow when it comes to it! I can add ones more thing that my computer doesn't like (the first one being Yahoo!): MySpace. So, I'm just going to wait until school starts (tomorrow) to see if I can do anything about it, if I have time during class. I did manage to get some pictures on it though. A good thing. :)

I would put more recent pics on here but... I don't have any. hehe... OK, well I do, but they're horrible. :D Hmm... Wait.. I believe a friend took pictures of the Bal Masqué so I'll just save them... (While you wait, my economics class is doing a 'project' of a sort where we go onto www.stocksquest.com where we own our own stocks! My ranking in my class is currently number 7! OH YEAH! I rock!)

This is of (L to R) Pradnya, Me, and Joy at the beginning of the Bal Masqué.

A SMALL part of the Dessert Table. It's an understatement saying that I was full that night. :)

A close up at one of the dessert displays... Doesn't it just look scrumptous?? :P

hehe... Pradnya and Malcolm with their masks on. Malcolm won 3rd place with his mask. :\ I don't think the people saw Pradnya's, though.

lol... Pradnya and I "dancing". We did that a lot through the night. I had sore legs, back, and stomach for 2 days afterwards! *snort* Just LOOK at that big arm of mines!

Ta Dah! The Ice Sculpture! :D

:) And last, but not least, the lemonade fountain. :) I drank a lot from it - until there was a shortage of champagne glasses...

**All pictures thanks to Joy

Well, I hope that gives you a hint at how much fun we had - especially with the dessert. Yumm... *SLURP*
