THE NOCTURNAL REIGN
A ray of light flows through the window,
The fire in the room rekindles.
Flickering shadows grace the walls,
Dust particles gently fall.
Another day has come and gone,
The silver orb floats precariously on
The backdrop of a midnight blue;
Moths wildly flits, flies, and shoos.
The steady sound of the cicada symphony,
Leads to a relaxed, happy feeling, you see.
A whistle pierces through the air
As it squeezes through the pair it shares.
A random cloud wanders by,
Obscuring the luminescent face, so shy.
Momentarily in the puffs of water molecules,
A heavenly sheen lights the particles.
A haunting chord abruptly slices dawn from dusk,
Mourning the resplendent King’s dying husk.
Another rotund monarch ploddingly reigns again;
Another night’s at a woeful end.
And I was fairly happy with it. Sooo, I decided to post it online on www.poetry.com. Then I got another email telling me I could have a trial on another poetry site (www.poets.com) in which I'll get reviews and see what people think of it. I, of course, was intrigued. So, I was like "what the heck!" I was informed that in the trial, I only get 3 reviews and only the first line of the review. And, yet again, of course, I totally disregarded that - until now. I just got my three reviews. They consist of:
- "I love the night. You paint a beautiful and ominous..." Score: 5/5
- "This poem made me feel like i was kinda outback..." Score: 4/5
- "I enjoyed it. You painted a beautiful scene in the..." Score: 4/5
And that, my readers, was what I got. Humph. I was curious - OK, I was MORE than curious - and it totally sucks. Now I REALLY can't start on my homework-that-I-haven't-yet-started-on (though I did do my economics homework already because I thought it was due last time). OK, I will eventually start on it but not until after I rant at the stupid site (I mean, REALLY. I am not going to pay $5 a month because (1) I don't have a credit card (2) it's my parent's credit card (3) they won't stand for it and (4) I know I really shouldn't). So now, I shall live with the fact that I'll never read those reviews in its full form and I won't read those four unread messages that will be unread for eternity. Sort of bummed, you know? *shrug* My fault anyways, and I've got to dwell on it like I do anything and everything I find difficult, problematic, intriguing, and fun. Which is most of everything. lol...
I suppose THAT's why I always think!
Anyways, I shall be going now!
Oh... the joys of a Senior in High School! *shakes head*
