Rita Update

So Rita's on its way. I'm here at home desparate for any form of entertainment. There's nothing on television. Only a bunch of channels dedicated to the hurricane and other shows are not of any interest to me. I feel terribly sleepy but I can't sleep due to the bright sky even though it's quite cloudy outside. The phone rings incessantly from friends and family, from near and far. The internet can only satiate boredom for only so long. The windows have been taped. My dad's taking pictures of the house just in case we have any damage.

On a more recent note, however, I've decided not to go the the temple with the rest of my family. I feel safer in my own home and there's no way I'm going to abandon it to Rita's mercy. Also, my possessions are here and it doesn't feel right leaving them all. In addition, I have a feeling my parents are leaving my parakeets, fish, and european finch here. I'm not leaving them either. Anyways, the temple is only about 15 minutes away and the chance of it being damaged is equivalent to the house being damaged. Anyways, I feel more comfortable here with my books and my bed with my pillows and my blankie.

Now, I'm just waiting for Rita to arrive. It's going to take ages! It's like I want to sleep but I can't. I want to do something else like homework or a computer game but I can't because I'm too sleepy. I'm just so laconic today! And me doing nothing while just stuck at home is not helping one bit! It's like sometimes I even wish Rita would move her fat butt over here so it would be over with. I know it may sound a little stupid and stuff but I'm not very patient and boredom really gets to me in odd ways. I dunno. Hmm... at least Rita, who was a Category two and went to a Category 5 is now downgraded to a Category 4.

I just want it to get here quick. I just cleared my digital camera just for her. ;) Shouldn't she feel special?

Well, she shouldn't. If she's coming, she might as well get a move on. I don't have all day to wait for her. I feel all this pent-up energy! In fact, I feel exactly like I did back in 9th grade. The result? It's quite embarrassing but since we have time and I KNOW I have the time...

It was on the school bus home and we were playing a card game. It has several names but I believe one would be Egyptian Rat Screw. A major part of it is if you have doubles and/or sandwiches, then you would slap the deck and collect the cards. Well, I was playing with a couple of my guy friends and they were all saying that if Barry (one of the other players) were to get one of the above conditions, I was to slap him. *ahem* I did a little bit more than that. Next thing I knew, I was flying over the aisle in the middle of the bus straight at him and yeah... hehe... *sigh* Anyways... there's nothing much to do. I almost wish that I could go to school today.

:) The key word being "almost".
