Four Day Weekend!!! - Good or Bad?

Yes, my friends, it IS the four-day weekend. It was sudden but it's the truth! Tomorrow's school was canceled and Friday was the Fort Bend Country Fair Day. lol... unfortunately, this weekend is not going to be all fun and games - well, maybe a little bit of fun and games. :) Why is this all happening? Well, because of my dear Rita of course. Rita the Hurricane. Rita who is headed straight for the coast of Texas and with me living on the coast of Texas (in Houston, to be exact) is not a good thing. It was a category 3 yesterday. Now it's a category 4 with winds almost reaching 140 miles per hour, last time I checked (I wish I could go 140 mph on my car... lol.. Just wishful thinking. :D). I guess they weren't joking when they said that it was increasing with intensity the closer it came. :/

I can already see its results and it hasn't even hit yet (it's due to hit and surge and play around starting from Friday night to Saturday morning). There's a breeze in the air (even though it's hot as heck - 100 degrees according to my WeatherBug which has been installed on my computer and now I'm using it!) and today's traffic was HORRIBLE all day (even in the morning!). I had Off Campus today for my last class (I had dropped Orchestra a while back and got Off Campus in its place therefore I'm not committed to anything at that time and I can stay in school or leave) and I left at around 1:30 pm. I got home at around 2:30 pm. I usually get home at around 2:00. It took me an hour to cross 16 miles of asphalt from my school to my house. The trip's already long but today it was torture. lol.. though I DID see some interesting things that the evacuating people that dominated Highway 6 did. I saw a car with a large container of something (I'm guessing liquid) strapped to its roof. There was even more bad drivers who were aggresive and changed lanes consistently (OK, I do that too - but only after I turn on the turn signal and MAKE SURE that there was no chance of me being hit) since there was traffic on EVERY LANE. Oh! :) And I saw this:

This was taken just today and you can see the traffic - that's not the point. :) lol... The object of attention is that REALLY interesting, fluorescent yellow car. Isn't that totally cool? It even has the lights police cars have and the license plate has NO license number! The car was dedicated to someone I forgot but it sounded vaguely familiar. Maybe a Nascar driver? I have no idea. lol... I forgot the name so I can't put it here, sorry! :D lol... NOW lets look at the traffic. lol.. I saw the driver next to me look at me in an odd way when she saw me taking a picture. :P hehe... No worries! I won't do anything bad! Yeah... we were in a traffic jam a long way from the intersection at Highway 90. *sigh* Highway 90 has ALWAYS been jammed but this was just... JAMMED. It was going SOOOO slow I was even surprised that I got home at the time I got home. lol.. Speaking about cars... :) I accidentally dinged my "car":

THAT is why I put quoatation marks around the word 'car'. Because I didn't do any damage to my car. You COULD call it secondary car damage though. :) This is a picture the license plate at the FRONT of my car. *ahem* Now you may be wondering why is only a part of the thingy damaged. Well... good question! My answer? hehe.. lemme start from the beginning. Well, it was last Friday and that morning, I had a strange feeling telling me I would probably want to take my digital comera with me to school because something interesting was going to happen. I dismissed that feeling. When I was nearing Highway 90, I had a strange feeling but I didn't think much of that either. About a minute of so after that? heh heh. Well, I was behind a white pick-up truck and it was a business one since it had something about "Air Pressure Services" plastered over it. lol... Well, the driver was one of those REAL cautious ones (which I didn't know until later).

Right before Highway 90 is an active train track. At this, some people brake when they get to it while others just fly by or they let their foot off the gas. Me? I'm one of the people that lets their foot off the gas but lets it hover over the brake pedal since right after THAT is the traffic light. The truck in front of me? He was one of the people who braked. I was OK with that. What I WASN'T OK with was that the light JUST turned yellow and he just plain STOPPED. I tried to stop completely but I didn't stop COMPLETELY in time. I was going at about 20 miles per hour. Well, my tires screeched a bit and stuff and I felt a bump and a slight crunching noise. lol... If you could've seen me, I must've been beet-red! LOL... After that, I got to school as fast as I could (So yeah, that small accident didn't tell me to slow down. *blush*) so I could inspect my car. lol... It was only the license plate and I was ECSTATIC!!!

I mean most people's first damage to their car probably would need insurance or a whole lot of money. I'll use one of my friends as an example. She got her side mirror knocked off and she just recently, while backing out, scraped the side of her car against the tire in the neighboring car and some of the paint scraped off. MY damage was only to the license and I'm glad. I mean, one less legible license means one less way for a police to catch me! lol... just kidding - sort of. :P I learned two things from this: always listen to my feelings for they're 95% right and that I never listen to my feelings. LOL...

hehe.. anyways, my family's not going to evacuate until it's SURE we'll get the worst of it. I think that'll be too late and it's not even Friday and the traffic was THAT bad today? If we left when it "got bad" we'd still be on the road sandwiched between cars on highway 6 even AFTER the hurricane dissipated. lol... Exaggerating. If we do though, we might go to Dallas. If we do, I'm going to be SO laden with my belongings. *sigh* Bad thing about me is that I easily get attached to something. lol... So, I'm just waiting for it to come so I can take pictures and post them online! :) I like taking pictures now and it totally rocks! The bad thing is that my internet could die for a while so it may take me a while to get back! :)

Until then, I leave you with my next Silly Iris picture! Continuing from last time...

*smile* One more thing! A pop-up just popped up and OH do you have to see it! The site's http://www.juscuzz.com/. LOL... the use is quite embarrassing but... Umm... here's an excerpt of what it says:

"TushyClean (TM), the easiest, fastest, most economical way to add a high quality bidet to your toilet. Don't live another day missing the soothing sensation of a bidet!"

*SNORT* It also mentions how it provides "great hemmorroid relief". ...LOL... Here's a picture:

*smile* Just something to think about... LOL...
