ARGH!!!

OK. I am PeRfEcTlY fine. :\ Well.. today was great - except I was tired and sleepy and I CHANGED my mind about what I'm going to be AGAIN. lol... It was Pharmacist (then I realised I didn't like to remember a bunch of med names as well as chemical stuff), then Surgeon (because it looked SO cool but the thing that made me sort of stop was the length of time in school), then Optometrist (because you know... Dr. Iris. :D but they seem so... tame!), then Anesthesiologist (money? MORE than great. Liability Insurance? Uh... I guess that's where your salary goes. LOL... :P), then Physician Assistant (because the money was decent and you get out of school fairly quick but you ALMOST do the same thing every day), and now, it's Surgeon. Again. Sooo... how to narrow it all down? To tell the truth, I have no clue. I could go by what Will said and do the Draw-Out-Of-The-Hat routine. I could go by what Stacy did to figure out what High School to go to and make a list of advantages of each one. OR I could shuffle back and forth between every profession I've come across which is what I've been doing. I'm pretty sure I'll pass this time though. There's no time to lose! One thing though, the profession I've crossed TWICE is surgeon.

Then what surgeon? Should I just be a regular one? A Plastic Surgeon? An opthalmologist? A cardiologist? A... OK. It goes on (and because I ran out of names. lol..). Now why the sudden change when I've been set set on P.A.s over the past week or two? Well, in one word, today. As we all know, I'm on the Plastic Surgery floor of MD Anderson at internship. Today was, at first, quite dull. Maerilly and I decided to finish our English homework before going on the floor and we got on when the busy spell ended (Wednesdays are the Busy Days - usually). The only interesting thing (and the reason why I changed my mind) was when a Fellow named Mathew I-Don't-Know-His-Last-Name-But-He-Is-Japanese that I've met before (he's really nice and cool) showed us his pictures. Expecially of the surgery he did the day before on a patient with a small spot of Melanoma (most common form of skin cancer) on her ear had to have it removed and he performed an ingenious technique on her ear. There were also cool pictures of an open neck (literally) with the arteries and veins exposed and all that bloody stuff. :)

OK. So I got intrigued and interesting and all that fun junk. The thing with me is that I change my mind all the time (obviously) and that I get bored of stuff easily. That's why I've been switching because I then dissect the subject into almost every crevice, cranny, and knick in it. Then I change my mind at the next thing that interests me. Now what is it about Surgery that interests me so?

INTERESTS/ADVANTAGES
1. everyone's different so I wouldn't be doing the same thing EVERY DAY
2. the money's awesome
3. I get to see cool things like arteries and guts... :) (Yeah well I'm not your typical girl. lol..)
4. I get to think and everything's a challenge
5. hospital atmosphere is relaxing and fun (well, unless you have to be serious)
6. I still get to be called Dr. Tu (HAHA! - I'd prefer Iris though. It's all about the name!)
7. I'd make my parents and relatives happy (and my mom would die of shock when I finish the multiple years of school)
8. I get to go to the hospital EVERY DAY (OK, I love the hospital. :P It smells GOOD!!)
9. will have time for me - at least some (people at the hospital are relaxed)
10. I'd enjoy working AND I'd have FUN!!!

DISADVANTAGES
1. school would be torture. Pure torture. I'd be out when I'm near 30 or something.
2. money for school? What money? LOL...
3. you'd have to work a lot - may be on-call
4. still some liability
5. my hands? Umm... there are steadier hands. LOL... Though I'm not the only one. :) Fellow Dr. Matthew Japanese does microsurgery and he says it's HARD because his hands shake.
6. a whole lot of competition both out of school and in school
7. :\ a WHOLE LOT of studying (and I'd better considering the amount of money going into it)

*sigh* I'm in school thinking about school. Life SO rocks. :) Well.. it will this Friday of course!

I'M GOING TO SEE WILL!!!

On a sad note, it's only for the early evening until... a time when my mom comes back from the airport. (My dad leaves for good ole Cali this Friday - LUCKY HIM!!) On another sad note, the last day of Internship this year is this coming-up Monday. *sniff sniff* Oh.. and I have a math test tomorrow.

I feel a headache coming.

Darn it.

:) Well. I'll get to you all some other time. Until then, I have to KNOW that I understand my math homework. lol... Ketch you all later! :P I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL FRIDAY!!!!

AHHH! FRIDAY! lol...

Oh... listen to this:
A SHORT HISTORY OF MEDICINE: "Doctor, I have an ear ache."
2000 B.C. - "Here, eat this root."
1000 B.C. - "That root is heathen, say this prayer."
1850 A.D. - "That prayer is superstition, drink this potion."
1940 A.D. - "That potion is snake oil, swallow this pill."
1985 A.D. - "That pill is ineffective, take this antibiotic."
2000 A.D. - "That antibiotic is artificial. Here, eat this root!"
