The Wonders of WoW

I don't exactly know when my last update was, but it's probably been at least a month. Well, one thing that's knew is that I started playing WoW (World of Warcraft). After living in this dorm with my roomie and her boyfriend playing WoW a lot, it's natural that eventually, my curiosity caught up with me. So next thing I know, I was googling WoW and I found the site and I decided to get a 10 day free trial just to see what was up with everyone who's played it being hopelessly addicted. This happened Wednesday. I didn't play until early Thursday (like around midnight) through my roomie's laptop. My downloading of the game took an incredibly long amount of time (after almost a day, it was only 8% completed - but then, it suddenly sped up so it was done by Thursday and I started playing on my lappie, Friday morning, I believe. Or something of the sort.

Of course, nothing's perfect since the minimum amount of RAM needed to play the game is 512. My lappie is already supposed to be equipped with 512 MB of RAM, but for some odd reason, I have a little less. Anyway, when I play, it lags at times and sometimes, the screen freezes and I have to turn it off. Ugh. But yeah, when it's NOT doing that, I'm having a great time with it!

I think I got a couple of factors as to why it's addictive. Well, for the more social people, there are other real live people that you could interact with (and also to help you when you're stuck on a quest). You can also pick your character/class/etc from that list thingy so there are choices and I love having options to choose from. Also, there are quests that makes you go "after I finish this one" or you could level up and that makes me go "after I reach level x, then I can exit". Of course, sometimes I have to exit the game before I'm ready. Stupid RAM.

Anywho, I'm pretty happy with this though it sort of is taking over my life at this point. I know it won't be forever though. I get tired of everything, even my obsessions. :) But yeah, today, after playing for most of the time I've been awake (or when it would LET me play), I stopped and decided to take a break. I'll probably get on again later on today while my laundry's in the wash or something.

So yeah, if anyone here plays WoW (not if you HAVE played it, because I've met some people that used to but stopped due to their amount of incredible self control), look me up! I'm currently stuck on a quest... or two... or three. hehe... Yeah, I've made three characters so far and all of them are night elves. My main one's Aurissa and she's currently a level 11 rogue. Then there's Seraena, a level 5 hunter. The last one is Rissalia, a level 4 druid. I'm planning on making a mage next.

Along with that, Ryan and I broke up last weekend for various reasons. It was a good going-on three months but all things end. It was mutual and such and we're still friends. Hm... normally, I would dedicate several paragraphs to something like this, but it's been a week and I guess the... uh... dang it. My words lost me. Or I lost my words. Anyway, I just don't have much to say about it anymore. :) I'm good though and I don't need to talk about it. haha... yeah, the people that find out always say the same things like "are you okay?" and "do you need me to beat him up?" and "what happened?" Well, of course, there are the odd ones out... like Dookie! Well, he did say some of those things, but he ended with a "I understand one mutual break up and maybe a second one... but a third one??" I still don't get that. I happen to like mutual break ups. Plus, I hate it when people are mad at me.

Hm... well, I've started to apply to Austin Community College for the summer. I'm planning on taking HIS 1301(US History I), E 2332 (World Literature), and GOVT 2305 (US Government). As for my classes in Fall 2007... I have no idea. All I know is that I want to start taking a language class, most likely Mandarin, even though I dislike the language. :) I'm biased. I like Cantonese better. On the plus side, I am sort of doing better this semester. It better stay that way. My future physical, mental, and professional well-being rests on this. haha... the only thing I'm stuck on is WHERE to send the transcript. The campus I plan to go to? Argh...

Hm.. nothing much besides those. They're the main ones. I did go to a Guster and The Format concert yesterday night with Avery. He invited me to go to a Ted Leo and the Pharmacists concert which was tempting since I have listened to them before and liked them (I never heard of Guster and The Format before the concert, but they were pretty good, I preferred the Format though). Even so, I'm an indoor creature who thrives on little social interaction so yeah. :) I decided to stay in but he said he'd get me a shirt. haha... that works!

Oh yes, one thing. Amy found a site that totally ROCKS!! Of course, the internet in the dorms started to suck this semester and is slow as heck so I can't really enjoy it to the fullest extent but the site hosts lots of cartoons, anime, movies, TV shows, music videos, and sports as well, I believe. It totally rocks! To visit this totally brillaint site, go here.

Besides that, fanfiction is still a main pastime of mine and I read it between spurts of WoW, though with the slow internet, even the loading of fics takes a while. I was even tempted one time to actually turn on the TV! -sigh- The Internet rocks, I just wished it was faster. I can't live without it! Especially since I now have TWO hobbies resting on the Internet speed I currently have.

Now the only dilemma I have (besides the transcript thing and what I'll take next school year) is if I'll pay the $15 once my 10 day free trial of WoW is over.
