Parents are the most puzzling things of this universe - with teachers as a close second. This day was supposed to be a good day. You know, everything going according to plan and such. I was going to go to the doctor to get my TB Skin Test for my Internship Class then I was going to go to the bookstore to get SAT II study books for Biology, Math Level 1, and US History (because I'm an idiot, that's why.. hehe...). After that, I would then go drop off the application dealio for my registering for the November test date for the SAT 2. Then we would go to the optometrist so I can get more disposable contacts since I'm on my last pair (I'm SOOOO getting lasik surgery when I'm done with school).
This morning, however, I woke up at around 11 pm. I'm thinking it's not that bad. I know some people that wake up at around 1 or even 3. I can't stay asleep that long: either the phone wakes me up, my sister races into my room and rests her butt on my legs or some other effective-rousing technique of hers, or my mom's stunningly vibrant voice pervades into my dreams (*snort*). About five minutes after I woke up and was planning to get out of bed, I hear my dear mother's voice telling my sister to wake me up. True to her word, my sister momentarily barged through my door into my room, stole my glasses and ran back out. :) Dontcha love her. lol... Yeah... momentarily after that, I heard my mom and her lovely voice lecturing me about the same things she always lectures me on when I wake up "late". I don't need to listen to it since most of what she says, she repeats word-for-word since the last lecture on the same subject. To tell the truth, I truly wouldn't mind her lecturing me as long as it's NEW information. Not the old "you're so lazy!", "I doubt you'll make it past your first year of university!", "I have no idea HOW you study for school!", "You'll never make it past medical school!", "Pick another easier profession like a History Teacher!"... Supportive, isn't she? *smiles*
After doing my morning ritual (dental hygiene, etc.) I went downstairs and my mom ignored me as if she hadn't spent the last 10 minutes busting her lungs and larynx. She only turned her attention to moi when I reached for what looked to be potential breakfast (the moon cake. Yumm... One of the best things about being Asian. :D) and then told me not to eat it all or I'll get fat. *rolls eyes* I then proceeded to go up to my room with the moon cake and my cup of milk and tea with her voice trailing behind me. Again. Then I came back downstairs and we had a normal conversation like nothing in the world had happened that consisted of her insulting me and my plans for the future. :) Now we're going to go to all the planned things like the bookstore, blue-box-where-you-insert-your-mail-to-be-mailed, doctor, and optometrist.
I must admit that this difficult-mother deal is quite amusing once you think about it. :)
