:) I just got back from my math class with my math tutor, Michelle Vu. She's a very good teacher and about 250% better than Mrs. Burnham. Also, I'm improving in her class. :) We've been doing logarithms and exponents with radicals and rationals. lol.. The two that started the demise of my academic career - or at least the demise of the mathematic section of my academic career. lol... :D
Thing is that I'm doing well. REALLY well. If only she could've been my Algebra 2 teacher and work at Hightower. Alas, it is not so. :\ I dunno, it's all funky and stuff. She is also dreadfully honest. lol.. She says that I really am good in math, I just need to bump up my confidence level in myself when it comes to it. Also, she admires me because on the first day, I was so confused and it goes on and now I'm doing just fine - and in the two worst sections that I failed in at school. I'm a pretty good learner as long as I'm supplied with an adequate teacher. When it comes to math, I'd rather it be one-on-one, but you can't have everything! I still hate logs but today, it was fun! (I know, I can't believe I just implied that math - and logarithms in general - was fun!) Well, it was because one logarithm problem needed the quadratic formula and that is my most FAVORITE formula. It's fun doing quadratic equations! I get to use the quadratic formula! Hm.. unless the teacher's a butthead (like a certain someone I know) and makes you find the answers via factoring... (another thing I suck at and hate)
But yeah, even though I do go to math lessons once a week for an hour, I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. Plus, I like getting praised when it comes to something my report card does not reflect. The school board should add a comments section in the transcript telling universities and colleges the adequatability (dunno if it's a word but it is today!) of the teachers of my not-very-good classes. Namely Algebra 2, as well as several others. Well, even though I like the class doesn't mean I'm up to doing math more than once a week. Having homework is bad enough. :) Though my sister is recommended to see her twice a week. Makes me feel slightly better. But I do feel a bit sorry for her since I do believe she hates math more than I! That's saying something.
I dunno, math is only my sworn enemy because I never really did get along with it quite well, but I dealt with it since my grades very pretty good. My tolerance for it died quickly Junior Year. I wonder if it would die completely in my Senior year. I hope not. I need good grades. Junior year's grades most likely killed my GPA and rank. *sigh*
School is such a ubiquitous thing! DARN IT.
